Dental implants are an excellent solution for the permanent replacement of missing teeth.   With implants, a person can smile with confidence and regains the ability to eat virtually any type of food, knowing that the replacement teeth will stay firmly in place and look completely natural. 

Look at your missing tooth as having two parts: the root that held the tooth in place and the visible top of the tooth that you used to chew your food and smile.  A dental implant also consists of two parts: a post and a crown.  The post, made of titanium, is placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing, and acts as a root.  The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation.  After the post has been placed, a porcelain crown is attached to the its top, replacing the visible top part of your tooth with a natural and cosmetically pleasing appearance that will last for years.
