Our office is located in the Island Square building in the heart of historic downtown Mercer Island. We’re between Tully’s Coffee, Walgreens Pharmacy, and the North End QFC supermarket. We’re also very close to the Mercer Island Park and Ride.

Our office features the newest and best in dental technology. Our office is fully equipped with low-dose digital x-rays, and intra-oral cameras. We use only mercury-free, tooth-colored dental materials to enhance your safety, comfort, and appearance.

Each of our dental operatories has a digital entertainment system, so you can watch a movie of your choice while we concentrate on creating and maintaining your beautiful smile. Younger patients will enjoy the “Kid’s Cove” play area built just for them in our waiting area.

Do you need to catch up on your email or the news headlines? Our waiting area is also a WiFi hotspot, so work, play, or just surf around our social sites. Better be quick, though, because we don’t plan to keep you waiting for long!

Preventative care is the key to a lifetime of good oral health.  Daily brushing and flossing remove bacteria from the mouth. If allowed to build up, bacteria adheres to the teeth, tongue, and soft tissues, forming plaque that, over time, can mineralize into a hard substance called calculus. Only professional cleanings can remove calculus. Inadequate plaque control is the primary cause of gingivitis (inflamed gums), periodontitis (gum disease), and bad breath. Patients can minimize bacterial accumulation through regular brushing, flossing, and periodic dental hygiene appointments.

Children’s Services: A child’s first experience with the dentist can have a tremendous impact.  If the first experience is a bad one, the child may learn to avoid the dentist and may never develop a habit of regular dental care. On the other hand, a positive visit can lay the groundwork for a lifetime of oral health.

Children receive special attention at the office of Dr. Bova, beginning with a dedicated children’s play area.  Personal video and, if necessary, nitrous oxide keep them relaxed and comfortable during treatment, and every child leaves the office with a small prize, reinforcing his or her own important role in maintaining good oral health. Dr. Bova offers the following specific treatments for children:

No matter how carefully you brush and floss, and no matter how good your overall dental care, you may someday find yourself with a cavity or an otherwise damaged tooth. Fortunately, Dr. Bova is able to offer beautiful, durable restorations.

Your options for tooth restoration will vary with the degree and location of the treatment needed and your personal preferences. Here is a partial list of the treatments available:

Dental implants are an excellent solution for the permanent replacement of missing teeth.  With implants, a person can smile with confidence and regain the ability to eat virtually any type of food, knowing the replacement teeth will stay firmly in place and look completely natural.

Look at your missing tooth as having two parts: the root that held the tooth in place and the visible top of the tooth that you used to chew your food and smile.  A dental implant also consists of two parts: a post and a crown. The post, made of titanium, is placed into the jawbone where teeth are missing and acts as a root. The bone bonds with the titanium, creating a strong foundation. After the post has been placed, a porcelain crown is attached to the top, replacing the visible top part of your tooth with a natural and cosmetically pleasing appearance that will last for years.

Dr. Bova offers implants for individual or multiple tooth replacement.
